Michael Tiemann is an American software developer and executive. He served as vice president of open source affairs at Red Hat, Inc., and was the former President of the Open Source Initiative. He co-founded Cygnus Solutions in 1989. His contributions to free software include the GNU C++ compiler, the GNU C compiler, and the GNU Debugger. He was also the chief technical officer of Red Hat, and has recently taken the lead of OS-Climate project in Linux Foundation.
